Councils and Issues

This year CESMUN is offering delegates 7 different councils to choose from. Below you will be able to find each council, its topics and by clicking the topic, their research reports:

Human Rights Council - HRC

  • The question of religious and personal freedom in regards to the legality of same-sex marriage

  • The participation of senior citizens in decisions regarding personal healthcare

Security Council - SC*

  • The Russo-Ukraine War

  • The legalization of lethal autonomous weapons

League of Nations (Historic Security Council)  - LoN

  • The army of the Empire of Japan invading Manchuria. 

  • The Spanish Civil War

International Court of Justice - ICJ

  • Immunities and Criminal Proceedings (Equatorial Guinea v. France)

  • Armed Activities on the Territory of the Congo (Democratic Republic of the Congo v. Uganda)

United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime - UNODC

  • Implementing reforms for the mental healthcare of prisoners and mental ward patients

  • The question of decriminalizing drug use

UN Women

  • Establishing accountability for female murders in Middle Eastern regions

  • Addressing the rights of Afghan women under Taliban rule

World Health Organization - WHO

  • Establishing measures to prevent future pandemics

  • The question of the legality of abortion

* Please note: In order to join Security Council you must have at least ONE MUN experience

Fees and Prices

Below are the delegate fees for CESMUN'23:

  1. Formal attire must be worn at ALL times.

  2. Delegates must always be at their designated location.

  3. Delegates are not to wander around around the building.

  4. Phone use in session must be minimized as much as possible.

  5. Laptops and/or iPads are the only permitted devices to use in session.

  6. Follow the instructions of Secretariats, Student Officers, Admins or any teacher.

  7. No use of inappropriate language will be tolerated.

  8. No substances (such as cigarettes, alcohol, any drug etc.) will be tolerated and anyone who gets caught with such substances will be banned from any current and future CES events.
